there was something wrong with the HDCP support on my AMD A6 3500 board and I bought this as it removes much of the driver headaches ATi brings.
It was the cheapest silent card I could find and it was cheapest here.

This card is great value, BUT, be aware that the heatsink is large. It's not just wide, but longer than an ordinary PCI card. If you're short of space in your case you could be in trouble (for instance it won't fit in the low profile Dell Optiplex range and it will not fit in many larger Dell desktop cases either).
Also, if you need to go low profile, the cable to the VGA is so short you can only have the VGA on the heatsink side of the card, a pretty bad oversight rendering it useless for many motherboards. If they'd made the cable a few cms lnoger it could have been used on either side of the card (if the heatsink side of this card is near a hard drive or fan you won't be able to use the VGA).
But, the real problem is the giant heatsink (In my opinion it is a major design fault. We all know they advertise it as a silent card because of the sink, but the size guys.... it's not practical and it will be a major problem for many), so if in any doubt about motherboard space, perhaps its best to go for the Palit GT 610 1GB DDR3 PCI Express, its great value, has a small fan and it fits most motherboards; its a great card.
Or, for about 36.00 on Amazon I would highly recommend Palit 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 610 Graphics Card (DDR3, HDMI, DVI, VGA, PCI-Express 2.0, DirectX 11.0 & OpenGL 4.2 Support, 3D Vision with Blu-ray 3D Sup)... it's great!

Needed an upgrade for my htpc to handle bluray 3d and this does the job admirably. With built-in hw decoding of bluray and bluray 3d, I just had to configure Nvidia's 3D vision settings and it now automatically activates the TV's 3D function when playing a 3D movie in PowerDVD. Not needed for anything more powerful but might have a go at running a few slightly older PC games on it.

I'd been looking for what seemed like ages to find a graphics card that could go in my new computer. I had recently bought a Lenovo slimline with an integrated graphics chip and had to upgrade the power supply before I could even consider a graphics card. As an HTPC or non-gaming PC card this is great. Doesn't need external power and as it's fanless it's obviously totally silent. For the money, you really can't go wrong and if you're wanting to add HDMI support and 1080p processing to your PC then go for it. Quality card for a bargain price. If you do want to do any gaming though don't get this, it can't play anything at 1080p very smoothly (and don't even think about trying it with AA enabled) but that's a given for this price range.
