Im running the card along with a i5-3570K 8 gig of Kingston HyperX ram and a ASRock Z75 Pro3 this is a new build of around 2 months, so far im playing every game i buy on high to ultra and my temps after 2 hours of BF3 or Black Ops never go above 60c, idle temps are 24c and this is with 3x120cm fans.....for this price on here which is a tenner cheaper that my price you have to buy it for a gamer wanting to play the latest games with the lowest temps and all on hight to ultra its a no brainer,..... oh i forgot BF3 on ultra gives me and FPS of 70 and Black Ops over 100......

Bought this card to replace 2 x Gigabyte 440 GTX 1GB cards in SLI. What a difference! The card runs the latest games on ultra at very high frame rates without a glitch. Its the smoothest I have seen, even with very high detail textures, shadows, mist and complex lighting.

It is faster than the SLI rig, very stable and runs quiet and very cool, no fan noise and very little heat. Uses one 6 x power pin not four, so the power supply is never stretched, again reducing heat and fan noise. Far Cry 3, Skyrim at 1920 x 1200 on two monitors, no problem. Excellent card, very cheap, no problems - recommended.

This card was a huge upgrade for me (from a Radeon 5570). It plays the latest games on High or Ultra settings and nothing has phased it yet.

One word of advice, check your PSU (power unit) first - if there's not enough power you'll need to budget to upgrade that as well.

Recommended!

As said in the title, the card is very powerful for it's price! Playing even Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3 on ultra with 4xMSAA! Mind you, I'm not playing 1080p as my monitor doesn't support it, but I did try it through HDMI (where 1080p works unlike my VGA port but looks horrible out of game) and this card still managed over 45fps on Battlefield 3 ultra settings - with v-sync and anti aliasing enabled! Far Cry 3 plays very nicely, I'm sure with high settings rather than ultra it'd play very well at 1080p resolution.

As for temperatures, after playing Far Cry 3 for about 3 hours the card had barely hit 60*c whereas my old GPU was hitting around 80*c. The air is pushed out the back of the card as well, exiting out the back of your case, so it keeps the inside of your case nice and cool for other things such as your processor and also stops the card using hot air that's already been through it.

The size of the card? It's pretty big, but what do you expect? The card is capable of ripping through ultra settings on many games while keeping temperatures cool at the same time!

If you're on a budget and looking for a good graphics card for a gaming PC, get this. You will definitely not be disappointed!

Quality - The build quality of this product is outstanding. It's very solid. It seems to me much better than other cards that have open housing. This card lets air flow straight through the card out of the rear exhaust without pushing warm air into the case. Card hasn't yet reached over 74 degrees Celsius on full load when gaming or under stress tests.

Performance - Great performance and I average around 45 fps on Batman Arkham City with most of the settings maxed out. I might get myself a second one of these because it'd kick ass in SLI!

Looks - Can't complain. Fully housed case with a slick logo down the side. Basically it looks very smart + tidy.

Easy install and for the price your not going to get any better. Looked around for a long time and there are a few versions of the 660 you can get in this price range with little difference, but happy i took this one.

Exactly what I was looking for, 5 July 2013

I bought this card to build my first PC. I wanted a powerful machine but was on a budget, and I found the gtx660 after searching through reviews - so I thought I'd add my own. Evga's version of the card is sturdy yet lightweight, although it is larger than expected so be warned if you have a small case. Despite having a solid build and small fan, the card stays reasonably cool. As long as your case has some decent fans and is fairly spacious the card should never get too hot.

As for performance, the gtx660 isn't exactly a beast, but definitely deserve recognition as a high-end card. I wanted something that could play any game at at least 30fps on the highest settings without having to pay a ton, and boy does this card deliver. For example, I can run Skyrim on a 32" monitor at 1080p on Ultra settings (with maximum AA, SSAO etc), with a 4k resolution texture mod (4 times more detailed textures than normal), plus a demanding ENB which adds effect such a bloom, depth of field, sun rays...and still average 35-40fps. Without any of those demanding mods I can still play on maxed settings with much higher fps (80+).

To conclude, if you are on a budget but still want a card that can deliver the best quality, this has a price/performance ratio which is hard to beat. However... now that the gtx760 has been released, if you have access to an extra ~£50 it is arguable that the 760 is now better value with improved performance. Otherwise, I definitely recommend the 660.
