So from initially having a GTX 460 going straight to this as an upgrade was a huge leap, I went from playing Battlefield at high at 40FPS to 150FPS at the exact same settings, The card in itself is beautiful and is actually rather quiet!

Awesome in SLI, 4 Aug 2013

I have two of these in SLI, hosted on an Asus Maximus Extreme V motherboard with Intel Core i7-3770K CPU.

I have been very pleased with these cards in terms of their performance and cooling ability. Most cutting edge games in ultra quality fetch me a minimum of 50fps, and much more when I dial back the settings to something more typical.

I ran a standard stress test and obtained 795fps using the OCX Scanner Furry EVGA test. Whilst this doesn't mean much until you take into account the resolution and settings, it may go some way into convincing others that they are great value cards.

I am happy to run a test using OCX Scanner is anyone out there has some particular requests. I can run up to a resolution of 1080, as I only use a single HD monitor.

In summary, all of my games run smoothly, including the more recent, such as Battlefield 3. I can enjoy smooth high quality visuals that are outstanding. In fact, I tend to play my older games a lot more now, such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and also Half Life 2, as these cards allow these games to me maxed out to the hilt without the cards even needing to kick in the fans to an audible level.

Outstanding product!

So this is the second time I've posted a review for this item. I'd like to dock the card a star for the issues I had getting it to work, but the amazon and EVGA customer support are both excellent so I shan't. To cut a long story short, I was experiencing issues (post by-the-book installation) with the initialisation of windows: I'd get the 'windows is starting' screen but it'd then go black and stay black. Sadly, though other reports had been filed of similar issues on the Internet, I couldn't find an online solution. HOWEVER I did manage to solve the issue myself: as it so happens (and god only knows why) my ram had automatically decided to set itself to run at an incorrect frequency lower than that which it should. When the GPU was installed, this created a hardware conflict which disallowed windows to initialise. Went into the BIOS, fixed the issue, problaemo solved...

My gosh. It's amazing. I went from an integrated Intel HD5000 graphics (capable of running triple A titles at around 720p on a mix of low and medium-low settings) to this. Yes that's an extreme step up and yes I am astounded how good things now look. I'm primarily a PS3 gamer but have been itching to make the switch to PC for quite some time. I had the two sat next to one another and believe me the difference is HUGE, and I know you hear that a lot but you really can't appreciate playing games like BF3 on ultra settings at ~70fps without seeing it yourself!

Some benchmarks (for those interested) - all games on ultra settings, maxed out with AA enabled (and PhysX on Planetside 2):
Battlefield 3: ~70fps; 40-50fps when recording using Dxtory
Planetside 2: ~50fps; 25-40fps when recording (this is a VERY graphically demanding game on ultra settings though)
Starcraft 2 HoS: 80-90fps
Warframe: ~70fps; ~60fps when recording
Team Fortress 2: ~80fps; ~65 when recording

As you can see it's a highly capable card and (initial issues aside) I cannot recommend it more. In fact, having done further research into the matter, for anyone considering to buy this and then potentially upgrade to a GTX680/690 in the near future, it is actually better (and cheaper) to purchase two of these cards and link them in SLI. It's what I intend to do very soon (to ensure the highest frame rates when recording more graphically-demanding games like Planetside 2 as well as to better 'future-proof' my machine). I honestly cannot wait! :D

If you have any further questions, feel free to drop me a comment/message and ill see if I can help you out with my (albeit limited) source of knowledge :D
