When i decided to save up money to build a new PC i first decided on a 650 TI for my gaming needs (PS2 emulation mostly for now). Two week into using it though i noticed it wasn't upto the task of some scenes, so i needed more beef.
The 660 TI was in my opinion the best money to performance ratio card out there, in terms of the benchmarks and reviews, so i decided this was the card i should upgrade to. After checking around for the "best" version of the card, It pretty much came up that they're all round about the same, but the most prefered options were either EVGA or ASUS. So i decided to check out a few EVGA offers and i thought for a few extra quid I'd go for the Super Clocked version that is this one, plus it has an extra gigabyte of VRAM.
Performance wise, It's fantastic, a monster of a card. Haven't had any slow-down issues while playing PS2 emulation with it yet, It just seems to have a very high celing. Although the boost clock says 1150Mhz, the clock on my card goes as high as 1248Mhz...so it's like having an overclocked superclocked card which is just great. And there's also the EVGA Precision software that comes with the card which lets you overclock it even more if you so wish. Other stuff includes: An EVGA poster, badge with performance stickers for your money.
A few little niggles though: First, the cooling fan. Under normal conditions the cooling fan is very quiet, even under full load for 10 minutes the cooling fan never went above 50% and was still not a bother noise wise. But when you take the fan past 50% manually it really starts making some noise. At 80% (Full) it is a jet engine, the loadest fan I've ever heard. Now like i say under normal conditions it should never get that high, but then again my room where it sits is rather cool and i haven't put any really serious gaming through it yet. So yeah, if your house is a hot one and you are a serious gamer for long periods, things could get noisy. Other niggle is coil whine; you only have to google it to know it's a fairly common problem with some graphics cards, not all have it, and not all of the same type have it. Mine only whines when i stress it using the bouncing balls test in the passmark 7 software. Strangely only that test makes it do it, It's never done it through general gaming or anything so it's no biggie for me. Just annoying when you buy a brand new product and it has a defect that's all. EVGA will replace it for you though no problem.
So yeah, apart from those little niggles I'm very happy with this card, It's just a monster. I can't imagine an SLI setup with two of them! That would be a beast.
This card steams through games on maximum settings such as Arma II DayZ, Battlefield 3 Ultra 1080p AA4x AF16x, although it cannot play Metro on Max settings but can still handle it easy on high settings it achieves well over 60 FPS. this card is a no brainer, you will not need to upgrade your rig for like a minimum of 3 years as long as all your other components are up to spec with this card for example fast ram and quad core CPU.
The memory interface is not the fastest but is well enough to keep up with current/next generation games, if you have any worries about Battlefield 4 then don't because this card will handle that game easily on max settings, but you may need to tone down the anti aliasing to maintain that smooth 60 FPS but it will still look insane.
As I am sure you can imagine this card runs every MMO/MMORPG or RTS on max settings without a bat of an eyelid, meanwhile for those of you that are worried about the cooling design then dont be. I have a Corsair Obsidian 650d with no side fan and a 200mm intake and 120mm outtake and the max temp I have seen my card go up to is 75'C and that is a perfectly acceptable temperature as most GFX cards have a threshhold of 100'c meanwhile these cards are built to run at high temps, unless you are a temp freak then get a side fan <3.

Couldn't ask for better. Been playing Crysis 3 and Farcry 3 on Highest settings with no issues just smooth uninterrupted game-play. The warranty is excellent, and you can re-sell the card and pass the warranty on to the next owner. plus if you decide you bought the wrong card and needed the next model up, you can send it back to EVGA and just pay the difference. This card delivers fantastically. Before I bought this, I had a 6850. I can run all games at max, with a bearable framerate. Metro 2033, even though it's 3 years old, is still a very demanding game. That at max will always run above 45 frames per second, and never below 30. If you need to have 60 FPS, you can knock down shadow quality or something.
This card is very versatile. The 3GB of VRAM is very generous, can will make triple monitor gameplay off of one card very possible. I myself have not tried that, but on paper, it should work.
The EVGA software that can be downloaded to optimise this card, or overclock it even more, is very good. A simple "K-boost" can be activated if one of your games is lagging, which is pretty unlikely.
This card is fairly quiet and keeps cool. Using it's whole clock I have not seen it above 50 degrees celsius.
I have heard that this card in SLI is pretty much unstoppable.
Overall, great bang for buck. Versatile card for many uses. Will play any game at medium and above. Most likely max.
