This is a slightly nerfed 7950(same gpu chip),but if you run 1080p its amazing bang for buck/pound.
i run two of these in crossfire and can easy max crysis 3 (35-55fps),the top card gets a little hot but for 400€(for 2) this can not be beaten
easy to overclock so you get the same proformance as a 7950 boost card
CONS fans can produce lot of noise ,only really a worry if you crossfire then i rec to get a two fan cooler for top card as it runs up to 10c hotter
Bought the card early the afternoon before it arrived on Prime delivery so that was amazing..the card is so simple to install yourself no problems at all..just makes sure you have a twin power cable for the card i know some PSU's wont have two..otherwise its a defo buy
This card is an absolute beast! My rig was set up as follows:
Intel Core i-5 2500k @4.4GHz
ATI Radeon HD 6870 1GB
4GB Kingston HyperX Genesis DDR3 1600MHz RAM
This setup was starting to struggle with things like Skyrim on Ultra detail with a load of high res texture packs, and with Bioshock Infinite on medium detail! Due to the lack of video RAM every so often there would be long pauses while it struggled to load textures, to the point it was no longer an annoyance and was becoming unplayable. I replaced the GFX card with this, and added another 4GB of http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004JO3L40/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2 and now it runs both games on Ultra settings at a constant 60FPS. If you look at all the hardware sites you'll see this card performs on a par with the much more expensive 7950, making this an amazing bargain. If you're looking at buying this card, or a similar 7870 from a different manufacturer just make sure it's the LE version, the regular versions are no way near as good.
Its is a really good card nothing i do not like about it real sleek metal finish on the card.
The card itself when overclocked can achieve to be as good as a 7950 ghz edition and I like that because it saves us money.
The two mini display ports were a real bonus for me and I really wasnt expecting the card to be as good as it is A+
This is my 1st high-end Video Card and so far it has been great.
Playing games with high quality settings & high fps is much, much better, than the alternative!
Really really good card. At such a good price. This card was very easy to install and I had no difficulty what so ever installing the drivers as I used to have an Nvidia card. I did have to purchase a couple of addapters to get eyefinity working. 1 vga to minidisplay port and 1 HDMI to DVI. A note of warning to anyone who is looking for an eyefinity setup. Any display port adapters used need to be "Active" not the cheaper "passive" ones. The Startech MDP2VGA works very well and costs anywhere upto £20.
As for performance it blows the socks off of my old GTX550 so I'm happy. Very quiet too.
