Great card, great quality, great performance. Is expensive as mentioned in other review, but performance is very similar to 2 680s SLI, so really not bad if were going for that setup. Have noticed considerable performance increase over 2 x 580s SLI. Can't fault it!

Bought this card around December of 2012 but didn't start using until June 2013.

My Rig at the moment:
1kW PSU
Rampage IV Extreme
i7 3930k 3.2GHz OC'd to 4.7GHz
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1333MHz
This GTX 690 stock
2 x 240GB SSD's in RAID 0 + 2TB HDD

Great card, not going to put up benchmark scores because I didn't get this card to benchmark but rather to play games in max settings.

Able to play of my games all maxed out (Ultra + Max AA) 1920 x 1080p 60fps: Prototype 2, ARMA 2, Crysis 1 & 2, ARMA 3 Beta (Not maxed distances though). Playing them all maxed makes the room quite hot mind you and I've not committed to fully watercooling just yet. Waiting for dual-gpu versions of Titans to come out before that.

Anyway, installation easy; just shove it into a PCI-E x16 slot on the mobo and use a DVI cable (not included) to connect to the TV OR use a HDMI cable (not included) with the DVI - HDMI converter. Put the included disc in and install what you want and that's it. The nVidia tool downloads game settings from the internet automatically so you can optimse games to play best.

The ASUS tools included are quite good to use. Can change fan speeds and change frequency etc; I've not messed with the clocks just yet because it gets very hot while gaming and overclocking a Graphics card under stock air-cooling isn't a good idea.

So the Good:
-Plays the latest games with settings on Ultra
-Easy Set-up
-Good tools included
-Looks awesome and very solid build

The Bad:
-Expensive. Obviously it is for a top of the range card.
-For the same price you could buy a 7990 which is pretty much the same but you'll squeeze a couple more fps out of it PLUS you'll get an insane amount of game for free though It doesn't look near as nice or feel as solid as this card. Or you could buy a Titan which, if you're planning on going 5760 x 1080 / 7680 x 1440 / 4320 x 2560 etc..., would be the better option as 6GB VRAM would rule for that especially if you go dual/tri/quad SLI. The 700 series cards are also an option.

On a final note, in case you don't know this card DOES have 4GB VRAM BUT only 2GB effective. This is a Dual-GPU card meaning 2 GPUs. Each one having 2GB doesn't mean that you can use 4GB. It's like RAID. 2 x 100GB SSDs in RAID means you have 200GB but you can only use 100GB.

Hope I helped. If you have any questions just ask :)

This card is something else partnered with the right processor, so that it isn't bottle-necked it just powers through games on any settings, unlike the previous dual GPU cards this bad-boy actually gets most of the performance of two 680's, I've had the card for a while now (long before the TITAN arrived) and I don't regret it, I have been offered a straight swap with a TITAN owner, I was tempted until I researched them, they actually don't scale well, they weren't designed to have two cards running in tandem, which was the only reason I was tempted (I had planned on two of them), so until the 790 is out or much better drivers making TITANS perform much better in pairs (or more) I would recommend this card over a TITAN.

when doing bench-marking the average, max and minimum FPS are all very close, it keeps consistent frame rates, though I also largely credit that to my processor.

all in all it's a fantastic card, and i'll be buying another when the 790 is out, as they will probably go down in price a fair bit.

Not much else to say besides the title. Fast, effective, beautiful, not too loud either. Brilliant card. Would definitely recommend if you have the budget.

This card arrived today, I have finished installing this into my rig. When I booted into club penguin, I turned the graphics onto ultra and managed to get a solid 10fps. This is insane for a card of this generation. When I turned on nVidia 3D vision surround the penguins really pooped out at me. The 4GB of GDDR5 ram really increased the crispness of the penguins waddling animation.

Since having this GTX 690 graphics card I have noticed the aim of my snowball throwing increasing rapidly. It can handle the most demanding of penguins even in 3D at 10-15 FPS at 800x600 resolution. The dynamic clock speed feature has really improved my temps and saved my life as even in the heat of the snowball battles it gave me a solid 9 FPS; those snowball battles be intense.

When I bought my 10 Puffles back to my igloo the 3072 cores were really put to work as they played in the snow. DirectX 11 support really improves Club Penguin as it is the most resource intensive game I know. The anti aliasing offers much needed realism to games such as club penguin as it smooths out the penguins beaks, although this super performance intensive post processing feature does lower the FPS to around 6 FPS, but it is still a very enjoyable game.

The dual GPU power really comes into play as you render the 2D icecube of the many lands in club penguin. While playing with the physX features enabled water around the shores of club penguin really came to life. I am hoping to get quad SLI for this card which should get me to the insane 15 FPS.

Overall I think this card is great for the hard core gamer such as myself who plays the most demanding newest games. Would recommend this card to my fellow 40 year old club penguin players.
